Climate change is a serious issue that each year becomes even bigger. It mostly affects Arctic region where not only the outer parts of the ground such as glaciers are melting but most important, the always-frozen underground called permafrost. This is a problem mainly because of the vast amounts of carbon which converted by microbes can flow into the atmosphere and cause even more warming. Furthermore, scientist Max Holmes said: ''thawing has consequences locally as well as globally'' which makes it more dangerous than we might think.
I must admit, I was surprised by the fact that carbon from the lower parts of the ground can spread into the atmosphere and warm our planet up to 1.7 Fahrenheit degrees in the span of a few centuries. In addition, I already feel sorry for the Alaska's inhabitants who will probably have to leave their homes sooner or later.

It's an interesting issue. Even if these processes take a few centuries, we are effectively destroying the planet for our great-grand-children. Sad.
