homework- ''What has Michael Dorsey learned from being a woman?''

  At the beginning, Michael had to change his appearance and it has contributed to a change in his view of the behavior of women or the overthrow of the stereotypes that prevails among New York society (and not only there).

 Reason being, the belief that a woman must always look perfect, our hero tried with all his strength, buying a lot of clothes to suit his new figure, but also doing makeup and taking care of his hair every day. He understood, however, that the fair sex does not care about their appearance for vain but to fulfill the requirements, criteria created by society.  He hadn't paid attention to how women are treated by men especially those characterized by exceptional beauty (for example: moment in the restaurant when a stranger guy tries to hug him).  Moreover, when he wanted to call a taxi, a man, notwithstanding the fact that he's presumptuously taking means of transport elderly woman, he withdrew only after the use of force by Michael (his male asset), what only confirmed that women should be treated like a lady and they are not.  Furthermore, as he played his serial role, he overthrew the image of submissive women, changing the text, and what was the result of building a completely new shape of strong, independent and self-confident woman. As a result, he gained recognition among the women's part of the audience, becoming their role model.

 Incarnation in the opposite sex opened his eyes, changed inside and common opinion about woman. Probably he had learned to respect them more than ever.

IT'S COMING - GET READY

What is coming? New Years Eve 2017 of course! 
  As one half of the world is preparing for halloween the other one is almost ready to celebrate upcoming year with a bit of taste and not only the champagne's.  
Some of us like to spend this night with family, others prefer unforgettable party with friends and there'll probably be ones that will greet new year by sleeping. No matter the category which you identify with- if you want to reveal 2016/17 fashion trends or even try some of them on, keep reading :) 
  First of all, sequins. 

  I would even say that we'll never get rid of them. It's like a little tradition, every new years eve outfit is associated with them. But don't worry, if you're not into shining like lights on a Christmas tree there is a solution! 
  This years biggest trend: velvet. 

  Taken from 90's is now a ''must have''. From shoes to dresses, worn in many ways.  Very elegant, feminine but at the same time pretty defiant. On the other hand, I understand that not everybody wants to look like a curtain so I've got another option.
  Definitely more toned with pastel colours and lighter texture. Gucci presents some pieces: 

  Well, it wouldn't be Gucci without it's famous snakes, but also (lately) very common animal pattern (that's another story). 
   All these propositions are describing 2016 fashion world and are taken straight from the runways, that's why there are pretty original. Nonetheless, we can just take all black classic dress and enjoy the moment anyway right?

There is one piece in our closet which always was there, and it's popularly called ''JEANS''

Have you ever wondered who actually came up with the idea of them? 

  Let's go back to 1850 when Levi Strauss, German with Jewish roots, moved to San Francisco and established his business in partnership with Jacob W. Davis. They invented blue jeans (denim/dungaree trousers) which were originally made for working-class people; (also worn by sailors and European soldiers in world war II).    

  Levi Strauss & Co. has succeed very quickly, from first premiere of ''501'' model in 1905 to ''lady levi's'' (woman's first blue jeans) in 1934. 

 Okay we're back in 2016. We can easily say that jeans are must have in our life as they're comfortable, durable and they go with basically everything. 

Lately denim trousers changed a lot, I want to take you on a trip to London where people at fashion week showed many ways of wearing our topic's hero. 

1) distressed/ripped 

2) fringed ankle

3) everything mixed together (floral pattern, materials)

 

In fact trends from the past are rising again and again like wide bottoms, or high waist;  But as we live in time of total freedom (in fashion aspect), people wear denim in so many ways that it's hard to catch them all. Although variety is huge I'm sure designers will figure out how to surprise us in the future.

EVERYDAY WEAR - OUR SOCIETY

For some people picking up an outfit every single morning is a huge struggle when for others it's as usual as brushing teeth. Today I'd like to focus on the first ones. 
That behavior mostly affects young women (especially teenage girls). 
I put them into some groups.
  a) ''comfy and simple'' - feeling good and comfortable is the foundation of this type. Girls usually pic very basic pieces of clothing like white t-shirt, denim ''mom'' jeans and black boots/heels.

  b) ''instagram worthy'' - basically an outfit that is worth to post on social media and which will fulfil the criteria of ''perfect girl'';will follow latest trends. That can be: black skinny, high waisted jeans with crop top in nude color, some sneakers and perfect eye makeup. What's more, teens act like that because they want to fit to the society (well cyber society). They don't feel good with their own self or body and believe that wearing the same as others (famous in social media) might be a solution. In fact they just copy, like robots. It's a little bit terrifying to be honest... 


  c) ''myself'' - people here don't really care about the opinion of mass, they wear whatever they want and are happy with that. Options of outfits are infinitive and depends on person, their hobby, passion, interests etc. Also, make them very unique and special.   


Although, in most outfits minimalism definitely stands out, I believe that the way we dress nowadays depends on how we fell about ourselves, how confident we are and if we care about others opinion or not.

LET'S TALK ABOUT BURBERRY

Burberry? Yes, please. 

Fashion week in London ended not such a long time ago, which means that the biggest designers showed us what they're capable of. Today we'll go through one collection with a fine-tooth comb and it'll be BURBERRY. This 160 years old company knows exactly how to beat the competition. 
Two weeks ago at Makers House, Christopher Bailey (the main designer) showed us upcoming trends in a very elegant and well organized way. He outstandingly colligated floral pattern with ''XVIIIth century looking'' shirts and coats. Let's have a quick look: 
  
The reason why I'm impressed by this collection is that everything harmonizes with each other, like for eg. stripes with royal pattern-> (jacket on the picture). Also, we can wear it formal and casual; for a glamorous event and simply as a street style.
 That result in fact is hard to achieve, because we can simply create a chaos, which is unacceptable in fashion world (and we wouldn't be able to wear it anytime. Just for a huge occasion). Unfortunately many of my favorite brands made that mistake this year. But as we can see there will always be someone who will pay our attention not only because of the ''crazy idea'' but because of it's greatness. This year it was Burberry. Congratulations for them!
